COMPETENCE

Tenacity Engineering's owner and Principal Design Engineer, Peter Bayer, has over 30 years of project management and engineering experience in product development.  Prior to founding Tenacity Engineering, Peter held key product and business development roles at Medtronic and Orchid Orthopedic Solutions.  Most recently he was Principal Mechanical Engineer at Veloce Engineering.

Peter has run many successful product development projects, leading cross-functional teams involving clinical, marketing, regulatory, quality and manufacturing resources.  His projects have included devices and systems for laparoscopic surgery, orthopedics (including spine, extremities, sports medicine and trauma), diagnostics, women's healthcare, and cardiac surgery.  Beyond medical devices, Peter has also worked on aerospace, consumer products and sports equipment development projects.

Peter holds a Master's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical and aeronautical engineering from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Science in physics from Acadia University.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Connecticut.

In his free time, he volunteers as a ski patroller and is the National Ski Patrol's Administrator for its Outdoor Emergency Care program in Connecticut.
